President Zardari chairs the meeting of Allied Parties
A meeting of allied parties was held Thursday night at Aiwan-e-Sadr with Co-Chairman PPP President Asif Ali Zardari in chair.
Those who were present included Ch. Shujaat Hussain, Ch. Pervez Ilahi, Dr. Farooq Sattar, Mir Israrullah Zehri, Mr. Afrasiab Khattak, Mr. Munir Khan Aurakzai, Mr. Babar Ghouri, Mr. Hameed ullah Jan Afridi, Mr. Haider Abbas Rizvi, Senator Abbas Khan Afridi, Mr. Mohammad Jadim Mangrio and Syed Khurshid Shah. Vice Chairman PPP and former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani was also present.
Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the meeting was part of the consultative process of the allied parties to discuss the prevailing situation and to finalize the strategy in taking forward the democratic process.
He said that the coalition partners announced their support to the PPP nominee as the candidate for the office of the Prime Minister.
The meeting also decided that the name of the PPP nominee will be announced by Syed Khursheed Shah at a press conference at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow on Friday, the Spokesperson said.
