President Zardari-Malaysian Prime Minister discus bilateral ties relation and International Situation
President Asif Ali Zardari and Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Wednesday vowed to enhance bilateral economic and trade cooperation and explore avenues for joint ventures in a host of sectors, including agriculture, construction, energy, , infrastructure development and manufacturing sector, says a press release received from Makkah here today.

The two leaders, who met here on the sidelines of Islamic Solidarity Summit, called by custodian of two holy mosques, Khadim Al-Harmain Al-Sharifain King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz here at Makkah, discussed bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Chairman PPP, Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Foreign Minister, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar, Interior Minister Mr. A Rehman Malik, Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Muhammad Naeem Khan were also present during the meeting.

From Malaysian side, Tan Sri Mohd Radzi bin Abdul Rahman, Secretary General Ministry of Foreign affairs, Datuk Kamal Yan Yahya, foreign affairs advisor to the Prime Minister and Datuk Syed Omer Syed Al Sagaff , ambassador of Malaysia to Saudi Arabia were also present.

Discussing regional situation and situation in Middle East, the two leaders agreed on greater and positive role of OIC in resolving issues facing the Muslim Ummah with the aim of reviving and strengthening unity among Muslims throughout the world. They expressed hope that the united efforts of Muslim leaders from the platform of OIC will help achieve the shared objective of progress and prosperity for their peoples.

Discussing bilateral relations, the President said that though there has been impressive hike in bilateral trade touching 3 billion dollars mark, yet there exist huge potential in various fields. He called upon the businessmen and entrepreneur of the two countries to fully utilize the trade facilitation mechanisms including the Pakistan – Malaysia Joint Business Council and the free trade agreement to tap the full potential of trade and investment between the two countries. The President assured foolproof security and every facilitation besides incentive packages to Malaysian investors investing in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that Malaysia values its fraternal relationship with Pakistan and desires to further strengthen its multifaceted relations with Pakistan.
