PM's disqualification: PPP CEC empowers President Zardari to adopt future strategy
ISLAMABAD: The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) reviewed the apex court verdict on disqualification of Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani in detail during a meeting at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on June 19, 2012.
CEC authorised the party's co-chairman President Asif Ali Zardari to adopt a future course of action to deal with the situation emerging, following the court verdict. Addressing a joint press conference at the PPP Central Secretariat, PPP Secretary General Senator Jahangir Badar, Secretary Information Qamar Zaman Kaira and Raja Parvez Ashraf told reporters that the party's top decision-making body, the CEC, also decided to continue its consultation process to deal with the situation.
