Govt to fight illicit drug trade: President Zardari
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari said that the democratic government of Pakistan is committed to fight illicit drug trade as it is being used to fund militants and extremists in the region. In a message on the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the President said that illicit drugs continued to threaten nations as those were a major source of funding for the militants and extremists in the region. He urged the government leaders, the NGOs (non-governmental organizations) and the general public to join hands in fighting the menace for regional and global peace and protecting the human society.
