Terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, organized crime, need to be seen in terms of their root causes. They thrive on ignorance, deprivation and poverty. Our countries need greater cooperation to effectively tackle them; it cannot be treated in isolation UR.

President's Trip to the UK
During his trip to the UK, President Zardari met with British Prime Minister David Cameron, British Home Secretary Theresa May, and hosted a luncheon for British members of Parliament of Pakistani origin.
In his meeting with Prime Minister Cameron, both leaders affirmed their commitment to further strengthen strategic and cooperative ties between the two countries by intensifying the U.K.-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue and confirming a yearly summit. This dialogue would deepen consultation on global and regional issues of peace and stability, enhanced business investment and trade, collaboration in the education sector, and cultural and Parliamentary links, including people to people links.
Similarly during his meeting with Secretary May, the leaders discussed matters regarding bilateral relations between the two countries, Pakistan's fight against extremism and militancy, relief works for flood victims in Pakistan, access to Pakistani goods in EU markets and visa issues for Pakistani nationals.
Throughout his trip, the President urged the international community to come forward and play their due role in extending support and assistance for the people affected by recent floods and torrential rains in various parts of the country.
