President's Trip to China
On 11 November 2010, President Zardari arrived in Guangzhou in China on his sixth official visit to the country. The President's frequent visits to China are in line with his announcement during his first visit to China in October 2008 that he will frequently visit China to boost new Government initiatives to promote economic ties between the two countries.

On his visit, the President witnessed the opening of the 16th Asian games and used the occasion to hold bilateral meetings with the Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and the Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, as well as meeting China's provincial political leaders and leaders of the corporate sector.

Briefing the journalists about the meetings, Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that the Chinese Prime Minister announced the beginning of the second installment of free commodity aid to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan starting the following week. The consignment of aid consists of diesel, coal and food commodities, which will be supplied free by China as part of its aid to the flood victims in Gilgit-Baltistant.

While addressing the Pak-China (Guandong) Economic Forum, President Zardari also invited Chinese builders and constructors to take advantage of Pakistan's new investment environment and build Zulfikarabaad city in Sindh and other infrastructure projects in different parts of the country that were devastated by floods, in what he said would be "a guaranteed win-win scenario both for Pakistan and the investors."
