Terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, organized crime, need to be seen in terms of their root causes. They thrive on ignorance, deprivation and poverty. Our countries need greater cooperation to effectively tackle them; it cannot be treated in isolation UR.

President's Trip to China
On 6 July 2010, President Zardari arrived in China for his fifth official visit since taking office. During his visit, the President held talks with the top Chinese leadership including President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. In addition, the President touched base with provincial political leaders and leaders of the corporate sector.
During the trip, Pakistan and China reaffirmed at the highest level to strengthen the strategic relationship between the two countries, increase the level of economic cooperation by an order of magnitude, and take concrete measures to further bring their people closer together. As a measure of this reiteration, the two countries signed an agreement on economic and technical cooperation, and China pledged a 50 million Yuan grant to new projects in Pakistan.
Additionally, while meeting with corporate leaders, the President informed them that Pakistan had a Free Trade Agreement with China in Goods and Services, which ensured full security to Chinese investment in Pakistan. He also emphasized that with low-cost and hard-working labour together with liberal incentives and access to huge markets of countries in the region, Pakistan offered unique opportunity to Chinese investors to invest in Pakistan.
